MEMBERSHIP

Membership

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Methuen Rod & Gun Club. To complete the membership application process you must print an application and present yourself at a regular club meeting with a completed application and your payment for the dues and initiation fee. 

All applicants must be able to speak and understand the English language.

Membership Candidates

Member candidates must be sponsored by a member in good standing with at least three years of consecutive membership or have a valid Firearms Identification Card (FID) or License to Carry (LTC).  In the event a member candidate does not have a sponsor or a valid FID or LTC, a letter addressed to the Board of Directors indicating in detail why they are seeking membership to the club must be submitted with the membership application. This letter should include any references that may be known to the officers and directors of the club.

New member candidates will introduce themselves to the body at a regular meeting and state why they would like to join the club.  This is not applicable for junior members.  Member candidates will then be excused from the meeting.

Membership applications will be reviewed by the membership committee and be voted on by the general membership at the next regular meeting.  Successful candidates will be notified and an orientation will be scheduled.  After completion of the orientation, new members will receive their membership cards and the combinations to the locks.  

Fees

Member fees are $100 per year plus an annual $40.00 work assessment fee. The work assessment fee is refundable if a member donates 4 hours of labor to the club.


New member fees from January 1st through June 30th are $100.00 for dues, $50.00 for the initiation fee, and a $40.00 work assessment fee.  New member fees from July 1st through December 31st are $8.50 for each month remaining in the calendar year plus $100.00 for the following years dues, a $50.00 initiation fee, and a $40.00 work assessment. 


Junior Membership (under the age of 18) is $25.00.

Meetings

Our meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month except for July and August.  The July and August meetings are the third Tuesday only. Our meetings start promptly at 7:30 PM.  New member candidates should arrive by 7:00 PM with their completed paperwork and ask to see someone from the membership committee.
