Ranges Rules

Safety is the number one priority at the Methuen Rod & Gun Club.  Above all other rules please use common sense and basic firearm safety rules at all times.  Our neighbors and the community are also very important to us.  It is up to every club member and guest to make an effort to minimize their concerns regarding safety, noise and pollution.


General Range Rules

  1. If there is a club appointed range officer present, he/she will over see all   shooting on that range and will enforce all range rules. If no appointed range officer is present then the first person on the range will control the range.

  2. No more than one person FIRING at a shooting station at one time. All spectators must stay behind those that are shooting.

  3. An individual may have no more than one uncased gun at the firing line at one time.

  4. Fully automatic firearms are NOT ALLOWED.  No Combat Style shooting.

  5. No more than 5 rounds may be loaded into a firearm at one time.

  6. All rounds must hit the backstop / berm.

  7. Any nonmember will be asked to leave unless they are accompanied by a member in good standing. If they fail to leave the police will be notified.

  8. Anyone found to be in violation of these range rules will be subject to disciplinary action or dismissal by the Board of Directors.

  9. Each member may take a nonmember only once per year on club property while shooting as a guest

  10. All Junior members must be accompanied by an adult member in good standing.

  11. On Sunday, outdoor ranges are available between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. ONLY.

  12. You must police your targets, brass, and the shooting area.

  13. The use of eye and ear protection is required on the firing ranges.

  14. DRUGS AND ALCOHOL ARE NOT ALLOWED ON ANY CLUB RANGE.
